Reflective Post

Reflective post

My experience with this class was amazing! At my other college this class is offered, and my twin sister took it. She said that the teacher just showed them what to do on the computer and they just watched. She said for the whole class she only had to make one PowerPoint and that was it! (no wonder she got an A) ;)

This class was challenging at times and very interesting. You kept all of us engaged and making sure we understood what we were turning in and how all the projects turned out! I had my ups and downs with each projects. I learned that communication with other students is key and not to procrastinate when big projects are due! but I also was able to get positive things with each project. I learned so many different ways to teach children and get them more involved with my kids.

My favorite one I did was the WebQuest!

I felt like this project gave us many opportunities to be creative but also show kids what they are doing with great direction and pictures for them to understand. It was also neat that the kids could share with their parents or other teacher could see what I am doing with my kids and maybe use it as well.

BOOKS BOOKS BOOKS!!!

This was the book we used throughout this course. I actually enjoyed reading this book. Usually I do not like to read textbooks that are required but this one was very interesting to me. I loved how each chapter had a focus on a certain subject but was able to break it down into groups to explain more than just what the chapter was focused on. In other words it was able to explain the main point and go beyond for us to understand more clearly.

THANK YOU!!

I cannot say thank you enough Dr. Coleman for all the wonderful things you have taught and for all the advice you have given. This course has been by far my favorite this school year! I am not great with technology but you changed it where I feel confident in what I am doing. I cannot wait to show my peers what I have learned in this class! thank you for being supportive and patient. I know I can ask a lot of crazy questions, but you had an answer for everything and you were very flexible with a lot. I appreciate everything you have done!

Things to think about:

this class was wonderful! I enjoyed it very much! I know that you want us to be able to communicate online with other peers in the class. That is the only struggle I had. But you were very fair to me and did not take points off for anything crazy. But if you want some feedback I would just say less group projects. Even though there was only two, I think that it was hard to communicate just through email. But I learned something from it so I couldn't really be upset! anyways thank you for this summer! I enjoyed your class!!
